About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to service and maintain our mixed rental fleet (primarily Toyota). This is a hands‑on workshop role supporting our Mangere branch and wider Auckland operations.
What you’ll do
- Service, diagnose and repair fleet vehicles using scan tools where required
- Carry out pre‑COF checks, fix defects promptly, and present vehicles for COF
- Perform standard mechanical repairs: brakes, CV boots, suspension bushes, cooling systems, belts, batteries, tyres
- Complete routine maintenance: oil changes, tune‑ups, filters, fluid checks, tyre rotations
- Keep the workshop tidy and maintain organised parts/consumables
- Source parts and tyres at trade rates; raise simple quotes; liaise with suppliers
- Coordinate outsourced work when needed
- Provide clear updates to branch staff
- Support new fleet arrivals (prep and fit‑outs)
- Assist the Airport branch when required
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years’ experience as an automotive technician (light vehicles)
- NZ workshop or fleet experience, including COF/rego processes and safe road‑testing
- Strong communication skills
- Clean full NZ driver licence
- Basic computer literacy (emails, service logs, parts ordering)
- Ability to work some weekends (7‑day operation; summer peak)
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with local parts/tyre suppliers
- Hybrid vehicle knowledge

- +$1.50/hr COF inspector allowance (when current; fees covered)
